Nerf This.

Steve Arviso - August 29, 2018 - Madness /

A character that could have easily become a lazy cliche, D.va is easily one of the most beloved characters to come out of a game bursting at the seams with interesting, creative designs and personalities and lore. But the beauty of the character isn’t in the plethora of gaming references. Instead, it’s in the darker, heavier things hinted at in her dialog, interactions with other characters. Such as her youthful spirit blinding her (or perhaps it’s simply a coping mechanism) to the dangers that come with her treating war and life like a video game. Beautiful stuff.

Be sure to watch the fun and endearing D.va-centric animated short, Shooting Star.

If you wanna rain down on her,
you better come rollin’ like thunder,
cuz this D.va’s online and suited up,
and she’s brought an umbrella,
routin’ power to forward barrier,
defense matrix overloaded,
boosters on, takin’ off,
she’s closin’ in, raisin’ her APM,
ready to self-destruct,
cuz life’s a game, and she plays to win.
